This the most calm, clear & thoughtful analysis of the troubling confluence of events that led to today. Thank you.

I am not an expert on academic publishing but I wish someone who is would compare the forced resignation of Stanford’s Marc Tessier-Lavigne to Gay’s.

Today it occurred to me that Claudine Gay has something in common with Ginger Rogers. Being the first Black president of Harvard seems to have been like dancing backwards while wearing high heels.

Bill Ackman, who along with Chris "fake CRT hysteria" Rufo and co., spearheaded the Prof. Gay witch hunt, has a wife who just had the opportunity to apologize for plagiarism in her dissertation and keep her job (I didn't look but assume she made citation errors, which yes can be very common). If we know this is a set-up, these elite academic institutions also know it is a set-up and they should be ashamed of their cowardice. Their mission is to model for average people how to stand up to this kind of craven manipulation. The Harvards and New York Timeses (and so on) have been ceding the ground for some 5 decades when only they could safely resist, only they have the money and influence/pedigree to resist. No wonder they are coming for everything...
