Thank you for summing up all my current frustrations. Musk and Trump are cut from the same cloth: horrible father and too much money. Makes for a very bad combination. I'm frustrated that Democrats can't subvert Manchin's obstructionism. I do feel they're not doing enough in this insanely precarious time of global emergency.

A local guerilla gardening group to which I am party is organizing rewilding events, one yard at a time. Rip out that useless lawn, and replace it with clover at the minimum, local, indigenous pollinator plants and native plants, shrubs, and trees. This is simple - if you want to take CO2 out of the air and put back O, the least efficient way to do so is with a blade of grass. Clover has the added benefit of pulling nitrogen from the air, including NOx, and putting the nitrogen into the soil, where it improves soil chemistry for other plants too.
The greatest joy in the world is restoring the earth. Getting your posse to join you is dessert.
Thanks for your climate thoughts -- broadcasting the disingenuousness of a “choice” between economy and climate action is so important. From the science side, I’m so thankful that (it appears) there’s less of an effort of straight-up denial (except for Trump and Walker) -- reality has to have its champions.
I love that you were able to reconnect with your childhood buddies, and that they have done some very worthwhile things thus far in their lives, as you have!
And that you realize that you were very lucky, but that we should not as a society have to depend on luck to have a decent life-- this is an outrage in a so-called "civilized" society, which we are now becoming less civilized in many ways...

Accountability at the highest levels for what Donald Trump did on Jan. 6th!
President Biden must declare a CLIMATE EMERGENCY and start acting like it-- half measures and incrementalism will NOT do anything close to enough to stop what we're seeing now--
that will only get worse... if we want a future for everyone, he needs to take unilateral climate emergency measures instead of waiting for Congress-- which face it, likely will never happen in any signficant way.................................................................
