Upfront I couldn’t name one song by Ye/Kanye and by everything I’ve seen I wouldn’t be very interested anyway. I would like to point out however, not excuse, his behaviour, that his mental health is poor. I once asked a psychiatrist why racism wasn’t included as a mental illness in the diagnostic manual and was informed that people who are overtly racist always have an underlying mental health issue of some kind. We know he is Bi-polar. I watched his interview with Pearce Morgan and watching him it was obvious that he is either not on medication, or he is on the wrong medication. His affectation was severely off. When one is in a manic phase or depressive phase delusions are a part of bipolarity. Delusions of grandiosity, thinking you are someone else, or that others are someone else can all be part of the delusion. My educated guess is that he might not even see himself as a black man or perhaps he sees himself as a black man with superpowers. I don’t know. What I do feel sure of is that he needs serious mental health help. He’s not well. Rather than rag on him for being a crazy racist we need to point out that he’s ill. Removing his money sources is a good thing because like an alcoholic sometimes we don’t get help until we’ve reached the bottom. Hopefully this is the bottom for him, but with all of his money, and the ass kissing world he lives in, he has the means to support his delusions, and I don’t think he’ll get the help he needs. When we look at ‘Karen’ videos enough you stop seeing brats with privilege and begin to notice they all seem to be mentally ill. Ye strikes me as a man who has gobs of internalised racism rummaging around in his head, and his bipolarity is bringing it to the surface in a rather wholly unpleasant manner.

Man oh man oh man! You lay it out there so well and right on, as usual. What has happened to me through all of this muck is the temptation to opt out, quit paying attention and retreat to a cave or to another country. And yet, from my own experience going back to being a social activist in the 60's, that is exactly what the opposition wants, for those of us who care to make things better allow those who want absolute power and control to take over. Not going to happen as long as we continue to call them out like you do here so well. Thank you, my friend!

The problem with autocrats is violent monopoly power. Also they're boring.
