My thoughts, for those who might wish to know them.

1. The October 7 Hamas attack is evil.

2. The Hamas "vow" of genocide - murder - of all Jews is evil.

3. The Netanyahu administration's response to the October 7 Hamas attack is evil.

4. The murder, kidnapping, terrorizing, of civilians is evil.

5. The Israeli policy toward Palestinians - reservations, murder, starvation, discrimination, theft of lands, no political representation - is evil.

6. Any group of humans who espouse genocide toward any other group of humans is evil.

7. If you are a human, you share with all humans a moral obligation to do everything within your personal power to prevent and stop all genocide, be it by starvation, assault, disease, forced migration, or any other means. You have a moral obligation to prevent and stop all killing of innocent civilians, all hate, and the promotion of hate.

8. If you are a human, you share with all humans a moral obligation to do everything within your personal power to create respect and parity, fairness and justice among all humans.

9. If you are a human, you share with all humans a moral obligation to do everything within your personal power to restore the earth.

I don’t do a lot of reading, but I do watch the news every day on PBS only. So, I was aware of some of the college issues, but couldn’t always tell what direction you were leaning. So, I kept reading. At the end I felt a bit more informed and finally realized what you were saying. Baratunde, I appreciate your commentary on this horrific war and the effects it is having on not only college students, staff, and leadership, but on all Americans. I’m so afraid that we are headed for a civil war of our own. It is high time that people around the globe stop fighting and start caring for each other regardless of any differences. We need to find common ground and start caring for our nation and the whole world. It is so easy to take the path of hate. Unfortunately, so many people follow the leadership of hate because it makes them feel superior and like they belong. The harder road is love, understanding, thoughtfulness and openness because when you open your heart to others, you may just find a life worth living. So, please everyone spread love to stop hate.

It doesn't take much to speak against zealotry.

What makes it difficult is when they're on both sides.

That being said, everyone has the right of self-defense.

In other words, F.A.F.O.

Regardless, Merry Christmas, etc. to you and yours.

I find it so remarkably telling, that at the end of the day you did not focus on the impact of the antisemitism on campus at all, the way you would if it were racism on campus. But instead focused on who was complaining about and if they had ulterior motives for their complaints. Surprise surprise at the end of the day the impact of antisemitism on Jews takes a back seat to questioning the motives of the Jews complaining about antisemitism. The go to bigoted response in order to deflect from the problem. Its almost like social justice leaders would rather focus on anything other than how bigotry and prejudice against jews impacts jews. Particularly when being perpetrated by their own movement, and supporters, it could have been an article about how intifada and river to the sea is hate speach the same way the word thug is a dog whistle. It could have been about the fear , danger, and repeated efforts to tell jews to hide instead of protecting them on campus., but no. Another moral failure from Baratunde, complete failure to do anything besides give a sentences at the bottom, "of course no one should face harassment." absolutely pathetic response to horrific bigotry violence and hate speech. Why would I expect anything better from someone who makes a living talking about social justice.
