Allen West — yes, that Allen West, the Florida Man who did a mock execution in Iraq and ran a think tank into embezzlement — just ran a mock election in Dallas County. Conspiracy theories about voting machines led to real voters getting turned away from real polls. The Texas Supreme Court stepped in to make it worse. And West bragged about it the next day.
A few hours ago, I jumped on DEFIANCE.News’s Defiance Daily to break down what happened in a more-upbeat-than-the-situation-called-for episode with Miles Taylor and Xander Schultz. We talked about why the shenanigans in Texas are a preview of November, and what we can do about it.
Plus I told the story of the time I literally fixed a broken voting machine in a Black church in Texas in 2008 because the poll workers were, generously, 500 years old. God sent me, apparently.
Also: Kristi Noem got fired, and I may have coined “¡Noem Mas!” on live stream. We must celebrate all wins. You’re welcome.
A bit more on what we covered":

🫡 They tried to get me to run for president. I laughed a good long while.
Watch the full episode above. I come in around the 25-minute mark but the whole thing is worth your time.
