▶️ QUICK NOTE. If you watch, start the video above at 11:29 for the clean opening
(The first few minutes were technical chaos while I was recovering from food poisoning.)
Hi you,
Tonight, a lot of attention will be pulled toward noise by the guy who didn’t get enough hugs so he constantly creates groups he can punch instead. I want to offer something different.
Two weeks ago, I did a live reading on Substack of my Atmos essay, “America Needs a Declaration of Interdependence.” I was recovering from food poisoning, the tech was messy, and the moment was real (thus, my suggestion to skip a few minutes into the replay).
What emerged was a conversation about democracy that predates the United States,
about Indigenous governance rooted in relationship, and about what it might mean to move from independence to interdependence with each other, and with life itself.
If you’re looking to tune into something grounding instead of the usual spectacle, the video above is for you.
Aaaand….. it continues.
📍 Tomorrow (December 18, 2025) at 9:30am PT, I’m doing a Substack Live conversation with Esther Perel .
We’ll be talking about:
Sovereignty and interdependence as a both-and (not either-or) tension in relationships and society
Why intimacy, trust, and repair cannot be optimized or accelerated
Whatever YOU wanna talk about because you know how I like to bring you in with me
It’s a rare chance to think about the future of human connection together.
📌 I hope you’ll join us. Here’s the link.
For those who joined my messy live two weeks ago, thank you Janine de Novais, Alexander Howard, Nelly Acevedo, Dawn Marie Galtieri, Dahna Willis, and many others! Make it easy to not miss future ones. Install the Substack app.
